You don't need a new website. You need the one you've got to load faster and be legible to the search engines and AI tools deciding whether to recommend you. That's a week's work, not a project.
Most small business websites aren't badly designed. They're badly built underneath — a page-builder theme carrying four megabytes of images, no structured data, metadata left on the template defaults, and nothing that tells a machine what the business actually is or where it operates.
The visitor never sees any of that. What they see is a page that takes six seconds to appear on a phone, or a Google result with the wrong description, or an AI assistant that recommends a competitor because it couldn't work out what you do.
None of that requires a rebuild. It requires someone to go under the bonnet for a day or two. So that's what this is: a fixed-price piece of work on the site you already have, with your design left exactly as it is.

A plain-language guide to your site written for AI systems, plus checking that AI crawlers can actually reach your content rather than being blocked by accident.
Images & page weight
The usual culprit. Compressing and correctly sizing images, adding lazy loading, and stripping what the page loads but never uses.
Metadata & headings
Page titles and descriptions written for the terms your customers search, and a heading structure that means something instead of being chosen for its font size.
Core Web Vitals
The speed and stability measurements Google uses as a ranking signal — measured before, worked on, and measured again after.
Consistent business facts
Your name, address, hours and services made to agree across your site and your Google Business Profile, so the tools reading them can trust what they find.
How it goes
Start to finish in a weekDay one. I measure where you are — speed on a real phone, what Google has indexed, and what ChatGPT and Perplexity say when asked to recommend a business like yours in your town. You get that as a short video before anything is agreed.
Days two and three. The work above. Your design is untouched; nothing visible changes except that pages appear faster.
Day four. I measure again, send you the before-and-after side by side, and tell you what I couldn't fix without a rebuild — if there's anything, you'll hear it plainly.
£350 for a straightforward site, up to about £600 for a larger or messier one. I'll tell you which after I've looked, before you commit. If I get in there and find the site is too tangled for this to be honest value, I'll say so and refund you — I'd rather lose the job than take money for something that won't move the needle.

An honest note
No snake oilYou'll find people selling “guaranteed ChatGPT rankings.” They're guessing. These systems decide for themselves what to recommend, and anyone promising otherwise is selling something they can't deliver.
What I'm selling is readiness: a site those tools can read, verify and cite. Without it you're not in the running at all. With it, you are — every time someone asks. And because the same work makes you faster and better structured for ordinary Google search too, none of it is wasted on the days AI never comes up.
