A fast, accessible website for a family gymnastics club in Essex — built to be found, and built to fill classes.
01 — The brief
Make a trusted local club easy to find — and easy to join.
Maldon Gymnastics Club needed a website that did justice to a warm, well-run club: DBS-checked coaches, a dozen different classes from preschool play to competition squad, and a spotless safeguarding record. Parents had to be able to land, understand which class fits their child's age and stage, and book an £11 trial without friction.
Just as important, the club had to be found — by parents typing "gymnastics near me" into Google, and increasingly by the AI assistants those parents now ask for recommendations. The site needed to answer both audiences clearly, and load fast on a phone in a car park.
02 — What I did
Website, motion and search — handled end-to-end.
Website
A hand-coded, multi-page build — a dedicated page for each of the twelve classes, plus timetable & fees, holiday camps, staff and safeguarding — with a clear path to the £11 trial from every screen.
Motion
Considered scroll-reveals and calm micro-interactions that add life and warmth without ever getting in a busy parent's way. Movement that feels friendly, not flashy.
SEO
Local-search architecture built to rank: geo-targeted content for Maldon and Essex, structured data for the club, classes and reviews, and clean, fast technical foundations.
AI search
Content and markup written so AI assistants can read, understand and recommend the club — clear answers, an llms.txt, and schema that spells out exactly who the club is and who it serves.
